At Velomax, sustainability management is understood as a continuous improvement process in which environmental protection and sustainability play a central role.
Since 2010, committed employees from all departments have come together voluntarily and regularly as the so-called Green Team. This group coordinates and deals with all sustainability issues relating to the management of the Velodrom and the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The Green Team is also in contact with the parent company.
Bee location Velodrom
During the lime tree blossom in summer, the busy bees buzz around Prenzlauer Berg and pollinate the surrounding flora. To counteract bee mortality and promote the local ecosystem, the Velodrom has entered into a partnership with a Berlin beekeeper.
Several bee colonies now live on the roof of the Velodrom hall, which not only contribute to biodiversity but also produce delicious honey every year. Velomax Berlin is delighted with this bee-friendly and environmentally conscious initiative and the valuable result - the unique honey from the region.
